Short answer
Check that the link came from the right offer and landing page in the generator, then test the raw link in a private window on desktop and on a phone. If the raw link lands correctly, a redirect, plugin, shortener or cached page in front of it is sending visitors elsewhere. Fix the cause, generate a fresh link if needed and confirm the click still records.
- Most wrong-page problems come from the offer or landing page chosen in the generator, or from a redirect added in front of the link.
- Test the raw link in a private window on desktop and on a phone before you change anything else.
- Old links from a previous tier still work, but they pay old rates and may open older pages.
- After every fix, confirm the click appears in your report with the right labels.
A tracking link that lands on the wrong page wastes every click you send. A visitor who clicked a banner for an AI generator and arrives at an AI girlfriend page, or the other way round, rarely stays to find what they wanted. Even a small mismatch, such as a generic homepage instead of the landing page your ad promised, can halve your conversion rate.
The fix is usually simple. A wrong landing page almost always comes from one of two places: the choices you made when you generated the link, or something sitting in front of the link on your page. This answer helps you find which one, fix it and confirm that tracking still works afterwards.
Write down exactly what you expected and what happened. It makes the cause much easier to spot, and it is what support will ask for if you need help.
| What happened | Most likely cause |
|---|---|
| Lands on the other app | Link generated from the wrong offer |
| Lands on the right app but a different page | Wrong landing page chosen in the generator |
| Lands on a page you have never seen | A redirect, plugin or shortener in front of the link |
| Lands on an older version of a page | An old link or a cached page |
| Different page on phone than on desktop | Device routing or a mobile version of your site |
| Different page in some countries | Country routing on the offer or your own site |
| Error page or a blank screen | A broken link or a blocked redirect |
Sugarlab AI and SpiceStars AI are separate offers, and each tier has its own version of each offer. When you generate a link, the offer you select decides which app the visitor lands on.
- Open the tracking link generator in your dashboard.
- Look at the offer selected for the link you published. Your link sheet should tell you which one it was.
- Confirm it is the app you meant to promote, and the offer for your current tier.
If the offer is wrong, generate a new link from the right one, with the same Source ID and sub-IDs, and replace the old link everywhere it appears. See where do I find my tracking link.
Many offers have more than one landing page, for example a page that shows the generator, a page built around a single character or a page made for a specific traffic type. If you didn't pick one, the link uses the default page.
The page should match the promise of your placement:
- A post about AI art or prompts should land on a page that shows the generator.
- A post about AI companionship or late-night chat should land on a page that shows a conversation.
- A banner showing one character should land on a page that continues that story.
If the page doesn't match, generate a new link with the right landing page selected. If you want to compare two landing pages, give each its own link with a different sub-ID, so the report shows which one earns more per click.
Copy the link straight from the generator, open a private or incognito window and paste it into the address bar.
- The raw link lands correctly. Your link is fine. Something on your page or in front of the link changes the destination. Go to step 5.
- The raw link lands on the wrong page. The problem is the link itself or the offer's routing. Go to step 4.
A private window matters, because extensions, saved cookies and cached pages in your normal browser can change where a link goes.
When you move up to VIP or PRO, you get new offers with your new rates. Links you made before the upgrade keep working, which is helpful, because traffic is never lost. But they stay on the old tier's offer, pay the old rates and can point to landing pages that have since been replaced.
If the link you tested is older than your last upgrade, generate a new one from your current tier's offer and replace the old link. Then check your other placements for old links too. See how tier upgrades work.
If the raw link works but your published link doesn't, something between the visitor and the tracking domain is changing the destination. Check each of these:
| What sits in front | What can go wrong | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Link shortener | Points to an older link, or to a link you edited later | Update the shortener's destination or publish the raw link |
| Redirect or cloaking plugin | Sends visitors to a saved URL that no longer matches | Update the saved URL, or bypass the plugin |
| Page builder button | Keeps an older version of the link | Re-paste the link and republish the page |
| Bridge or pre-lander page | Its button links to the wrong offer | Click through it and fix the button link |
| Affiliate link manager | Rotates links or applies a default link | Check its rules and the link it serves |
| Your own site's redirects | A rule catches the URL and sends it elsewhere | Exclude tracking links from the rule |
Remove each layer, test, then add it back. The wrong destination returns when you add back the layer that causes it.
Open the live page, right-click the link or button and inspect it. Read the URL in the page code. Themes, ad scripts and plugins sometimes rewrite links when the page loads, so the link in your editor isn't always the link visitors click. It should match the link from the generator exactly.
Most adult traffic arrives on phones, often inside apps such as X, Reddit, Telegram or Discord. Test your published link:
- On a desktop browser.
- On a phone browser.
- Inside the app your visitors use, by sending the link to yourself.
If the phone lands somewhere different, check whether your site has a separate mobile version with its own links, whether a mobile-only redirect is set up, or whether the in-app browser is opening a cached version of the page. Clearing the app's cache or adding a harmless label to the link, such as a new sub-ID, can show you whether caching is the cause.
Some offers route visitors by country, for example to a page in the visitor's language. Your own site may also redirect visitors by country. If visitors in one region report a different page, ask someone in that region to test, or compare with support. Routing by country is normal when it sends visitors to a localized version of the right app. It is a problem only when it sends them to the wrong app or an unrelated page.
If you changed a link recently, visitors may still see the old version of your page from a cache, a content delivery network or a page builder's saved copy. Clear your site's cache after every link change, then test again in a private window.
After any fix, click the published link once more and check your click report. The click should appear with the Source ID and sub-IDs you set. If the destination is now right but the click is missing, the fix may have broken tracking. See why are my clicks not showing.
If you use postbacks, a destination change can also affect your click ID. Check that a real click ID still reaches the link, as described in how to test your postback.
An affiliate runs a Reddit post about AI art with a link to Sugarlab AI. Visitors report landing on a SpiceStars AI page. The raw link from the generator opens the Sugarlab AI generator page correctly, so the link is fine. Inspecting the live post shows a shortened link. The shortener's destination was set months ago to an older SpiceStars AI link and reused by mistake. Updating the shortener's destination fixes the landing page, and a test click appears in the report with the right labels.
- Keep a link sheet with the offer, tier, landing page, labels and placement of every link.
- Generate links in the generator's fields, never by editing URLs by hand.
- Name links in shorteners and plugins after the offer and placement they belong to.
- Test every new placement in a private window on desktop and on a phone.
- Replace old links after every tier upgrade.
- Clear your site's cache after changing links.
If the raw link from the generator lands on the wrong page in a private window, contact support by email at affiliates@omnipink.ai or on Telegram at @OMNIPINK. Include the link, the page you expected, the page it opened, the device and browser, the country you tested from and a screenshot.
