In this step
- Week one is for learning, not scaling: one offer, one traffic source, clean tracking.
- Verify tracking on day three, before you trust any numbers.
- Make exactly one change on day five and measure it.
- End the week with a written review and a plan for week two.
The first week decides whether you keep going. Most new affiliates either try ten things at once and learn nothing, or wait for perfect conditions and never start. This plan sits in the middle: small, focused steps that leave you with real data after seven days.
You should already have:
- An approved account and access to the dashboard.
- At least one tracked link with a Source ID and sub-ID, from tracking links.
- A payout method saved in payment setup.
Choose the app that matches your audience: Sugarlab AI for people who want to create images and video, SpiceStars AI for people who want someone to talk to. Then choose a single traffic source you can actually reach this week: your site, your community, your social profile or a small paid test.
Tip: if you are torn between two sources, pick the one where you already have an audience. Borrowed attention is cheaper than bought attention.
Put your link live in one place. A review page, a pinned post, a link-in-bio hub or a small campaign on an adult ad network all work. Use a creative from the creative library that fits the source, and tag it with its own sub-ID.
Before you look at results, confirm the plumbing works:
- Click your live placement from a private window.
- Find the click in your report with the right Source ID and sub-ID.
- If you buy traffic, confirm the click ID is filled in and your postback is saved.
Quick check: if clicks are missing, stop and fix it now. Every visitor sent through a broken link is wasted.
Open your reports and note four numbers: clicks, signups, sales and earnings. It is normal to see clicks and few or no sales this early. Subscriptions are reviewed before approval, and some visitors take days to decide. Your 180-day tracking window keeps those late sales yours.
Change one thing only. Common first improvements:
- Move the link higher on the page or into the first lines of a post.
- Swap the banner for one that matches the source better.
- Switch from the general landing page to one that fits your audience.
- Pause the worst-performing placement on paid traffic.
Write down what you changed and when.
Keep the same offer and source, and add one more placement: a second post, a sidebar banner, a new ad creative. Now you can compare two sub-IDs side by side.
Answer these questions in writing:
| Question | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Did tracking work everywhere? | Bad data hides good traffic |
| Which placement had the best earnings per click? | That is what you scale |
| Did the day-5 change help? | Builds your testing habit |
| What is one thing to try next week? | Keeps momentum without chaos |
If you made sales, put more effort behind the best placement. If you didn't, look at audience fit first, then the landing experience, then tracking. The clicks without conversions answer explains each check.
- Promoting both apps on five sources at once.
- Changing everything on day two because nothing sold yet.
- Ignoring mobile, where most adult traffic browses.
- Buying more traffic before tracking is verified.
- One placement is live and tracked.
- You recorded clicks, sales and earnings for the week.
- You have a written plan for week two.
Next, learn to read your numbers properly in reporting.
