Short answer
Last-touch click attribution with a 180-day click window, plus 6 months of signup attribution: the most recent affiliate click before a purchase gets the credit, and once a visitor signs up through your link, their purchases are credited to you for 6 months.
- The most recent affiliate click before a purchase wins the sale (last touch).
- Clicks stay valid for 180 days, so slow deciders still count.
- A signup through your link keeps that user's purchases credited to you for 6 months.
- Clean links, honest placements and fast pages protect your attribution better than any trick.
Attribution is the rulebook that decides who gets paid for a sale. Knowing exactly how it works helps you understand your reports, plan your content and avoid surprises. Below, we explain the OmniPink rules in plain language, with examples for the situations affiliates ask about most.
| Rule | What it means |
|---|---|
| Last touch | The most recent affiliate click before a purchase gets the credit |
| 180-day click window | A click stays eligible for 180 days |
| 6-month signup attribution | Once a visitor signs up through your link, their purchases stay yours for 6 months |
When a visitor has clicked more than one affiliate link before buying, the last affiliate click before the purchase wins.
Example: a visitor clicks your review link on 2 March, then clicks another affiliate's banner on 10 March, then subscribes on 12 March. The sale goes to the other affiliate, because theirs was the last click.
Last touch is the industry standard because it is simple, transparent and rewards the affiliate who closed the decision.
A click doesn't expire after a day or a week. It stays eligible for 180 days.
Example: a reader clicks your comparison article on 1 January, thinks about it, and subscribes on 20 May without clicking any other affiliate link. The sale is yours, because 20 May is within 180 days of your click.
The long window matters for adult products. Many buyers research, leave and return later, especially for subscriptions they will keep for months.
When a visitor creates an account through your link, purchases made by that account in the following 6 months are credited to you.
Example: a visitor signs up through your Discord link on 5 April but doesn't pay. On 30 August, they subscribe from the app directly, without clicking any link. The purchase is credited to you, because it falls within 6 months of the signup that came from your link.
Signup attribution protects you when people sign up first and decide to pay later, which is common with apps people try before committing.
| Scenario | Who gets the sale |
|---|---|
| Visitor clicks only your link, buys 3 weeks later | You |
| Visitor clicks your link, then another affiliate's, then buys | The other affiliate |
| Visitor clicks another affiliate's link, then yours, then buys | You |
| Visitor signs up through your link, pays 4 months later with no new clicks | You, through signup attribution |
| Visitor clicks your link, buys 7 months later with no signup | Nobody, the 180-day window has passed |
- Before signup, the click rules apply: last touch within 180 days.
- After a signup through your link, that account's purchases are yours for 6 months.
- Renewals on RevShare continue to pay you on subscriptions credited to you, renewals included.
The visitor used two devices
If a visitor clicks on their phone and later buys on a laptop without signing in or clicking again, the systems may not be able to connect the two. Signup attribution helps here: if they create their account through your link, the account carries your attribution across devices.
The visitor cleared cookies or used a private window
Clearing browser data can break the connection between a click and a later purchase made without signing in. Again, a signup through your link is the strongest protection.
Two affiliates promoted the same visitor
The last affiliate click before the purchase wins. There is no splitting of commission between affiliates.
The visitor came back through a search ad
Organic visits without an affiliate click don't override your attribution. Another affiliate's click does. Brand bidding on search ads isn't allowed without written approval, which protects affiliates from having their sales intercepted by search ads.
The sale was refunded or charged back
Refunded and charged-back sales are reversed, whatever the attribution. See why conversions are rejected.
- Clicks appear as soon as they are recorded, with your labels.
- Conversions appear when a purchase is credited to you, usually as pending first.
- The conversion record shows the payout, country, device and the labels from the click that won attribution.
If you see a conversion with sub-IDs from a placement you removed weeks ago, that is attribution working as designed: an old click finally converted.
- Use clean links built in the generator, without shorteners or plugins that strip parameters.
- Encourage signups. Visitors who sign up through your link stay yours for 6 months.
- Be the last helpful touch. Honest comparison content and timely recommendations are often the final click before a purchase.
- Keep pages fast so visitors reach the tracking domain before they lose patience.
- Test links regularly, especially after site updates.
Tip: placements that answer the final question before purchase, such as "is it worth it?" or "which plan should I pick?", tend to win last-touch attribution more often.
Because the last affiliate click wins, think about where your placements sit in the buyer's journey:
- Early in the journey: broad content such as "what is an AI companion?" introduces the idea. Valuable, but another affiliate may win the final click.
- Late in the journey: reviews, comparisons, "is it worth it?" pages and pricing guides catch visitors who are about to buy. These win last touch more often.
- After the first visit: newsletters, communities and retargeting bring visitors back through your link, renewing your click and window.
The strongest affiliates cover both ends: content that attracts new visitors and content that helps them decide.
Attribution decides who gets the sale. Payment timing decides when you are paid. They are separate:
- A purchase is credited to you through attribution.
- It appears as pending while it is reviewed.
- Once approved, it is added to your balance.
- It is paid by the 15th of the following month, if your balance reaches your method's minimum.
See when will I receive my payment?
- Visitors from minors or prohibited traffic. These sales are rejected regardless.
- Self-referrals. Buying through your own link isn't allowed.
- Incentivized signups. Paying or rewarding people to sign up breaks the rules and the sales are rejected.
Read the terms for the full rules.
If you buy traffic, attribution has a few extra implications:
- Your tracker and the affiliate dashboard may attribute differently. Your tracker may count a conversion for every click it sent, while the affiliate system credits only the last affiliate click. Treat the affiliate dashboard as the source of truth for what you are paid.
- Retargeting can protect late sales. Bringing interested visitors back through your link renews your click and your 180-day window.
- Postbacks report credited sales only. If another affiliate wins the last touch, no postback fires for your click, which is correct.
- Attribution: the rules that decide which affiliate is credited with a sale.
- Click window: how long a click stays eligible to earn a sale.
- Last touch: the most recent affiliate click before a purchase wins.
- Signup attribution: purchases by an account created through your link stay credited to you for a set period.
- Last touch is transparent and widely understood.
- 180 days reflects how long adult buyers take to decide.
- Signup attribution recognizes that many subscribers try an app before paying.
Together they reward the affiliates who do the work of finding and convincing real buyers.
Can I see which click won attribution? Yes. The conversion report shows the labels of the click that earned the sale.
What if I think a sale was attributed incorrectly? Contact support with the conversion details, the date and the link involved. The team can check the records.
Does the 180-day window reset if the visitor clicks my link again? Yes. A new click from you starts a new 180-day window, and remains the last touch unless another affiliate's click comes after it.
Does a visitor who bookmarks the app still count for me? Yes, if they return and buy within 180 days of your click and nobody else's affiliate click came after yours, or if they signed up through your link within the last 6 months.
Is attribution the same for both apps? Yes. Sugarlab AI and SpiceStars AI follow the same rules.
Do renewals stay mine on RevShare? Yes, renewals of subscriptions credited to you keep paying your revenue share.
Contact support if you believe a sale was credited to the wrong affiliate, or if clicks consistently fail to turn into credited sales despite confirmed purchases. Include the dates, the links and any screenshots.
Clear rules make planning easier. Once you know that late clicks win and signups protect you, you can build placements that both attract visitors and close the decision.
